Alot has been running through my mind these days and this morning as I was relaxing in my yoga class they started to come together. Last night I was at a Coffee Klatch (I hate when I clean out my calendar - I had a bookmark which said what this acronym stands for). Anyway one of the woman was talking about waiting for a tomato to ripen and comparing that to waiting for the right moment for something to happen. I, of course being a midwife, related this to birth. What a great analogy to waiting for God to tell us when our child is supposed to be born as opposed to being induced and our child's birthday being determined by a doctor's schedule. We miss out on the sweetness of that ripened tomato (or birth) and instead get the store bought variety. It is still a tomato. It still tastes somewhat like a tomato but we don't get the full essence of a truly ripened tomato. What would our children be like if they were fully ripened in God's time and not our time.......
